Greenfield Community Spirit Memorial Scholarship Program
In 2006, Greenfield Community League created an ongoing scholarship fund in honour of four community active Greenfield residents who died prematurely:
Les Kathan, Lorne McMaster, Virgil Mergel and Rob Tchir.
They contributed appreciably to our community, coaching baseball, shinny hockey, and coordinating bingos.
Like these remembered individuals, eligible candidates will embody core values of citizenship and community spirit. Although important, high marks are of less importance; this scholarship is intended to address the needs of students who otherwise might not qualify for scholarships based on marks.

Two scholarships of $1,500 each are paid in two equal installments in each semester. Future commitments and awards may be increased to reflect the rising cost of post secondary education.
