Why is there a fee to join Greenfield Community League?

The cost of maintaining Greenfield facilities (hall, grounds, tennis courts, rinks and playground), is considerable. These costs as well as the subsidization of programs are covered by membership fees, fund raising such as casinos and bingos and an annual City operating grant Additional grants are also available from the City and the Province with most of these grants being provided on a “matching funds” basis. Grant money is used to hire staff to supervise the playground and the wading pool, and to provide the services of a tennis pro during the summer months.
