Seniors Programs
Petrolia Seniors’ Mark Fifteen Year Milestone
Once a month a large group of anywhere between 55 to 95 Southwest seniors meet for lunch and a program in Greenfield Community League Hall. This group, known as “Petrolia Seniors”, was organized by Southmisnter/Steinhaurer United Church in 1987 and originally met in the former St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church. As it proved to be a popular social and educational outing, and, as numbers grew--at times to as many as one hundred--it was necessary to find a larger meeting space. Greenfield Community League kindly offered their Hall and, for fifteen years, since 1995, it has been “home” for Petrolia Seniors. Many seniors from all the surrounding Southwest neighbourhoods gather there the 3rd Tuesday of every month (except August) for lunch, fun and a program.
At the March 16th lunch this 15-year milestone will be celebrated with an anniversary cake and a photographic display from our files. If you or anyone you know would like to attend please call Nick Malychuk (780-435-1045) or Betty Mullen (780-434-0711).
