Becoming a Volunteer

GCL needs volunteers for the following positions:

Vice-President - This is an elected position responsible for assisting the President and acting in his/her place when needed. Duties include attending board meetings and acting as a signing authority.

Soccer Program team - After four years of building Greenfield's successful soccer program, Soccer Director Jan Hicks is stepping down to allow her to do more work with SWEMSA. She is the District Director for the five communities in our area and Age level Director for U8.

We need a team to take over several roles to keep providing community soccer to Greenfield kids. New volunteers can count on lots of support from past volunteers to help learn their roles. The program needs: Soccer Director(s), Equipment Coordinator, Referee Coordinator and Field Lining Coordinator. For more information please contact Jan Hicks.

Shinny Hockey Coordinator - Plans to restart the kids shinny hockey program at our community rink this past winter fell through. We need someone to organize this program for next season.

Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues Representative - EFCL fosters healthy neighbourhoods by providing advice and support to community leagues and liasing with the City and leagues to give input on urban planning issues. All community leagues are members of EFCL, brought together for the annual general meeting, the semi-annual meeting (regular general meeting) and special meetings as required where they are eligible to vote on a wide range of matters that set direction for EFCL. Be Greenfield's voice at the EFCL!

Please note that some of these positions are flexible and can be shared by more than one person. We welcome your ideas!
