Advertising Policy
The Greenfield Gazette, Express emails, Greenfield Community League website (http://www.greenfieldcommunityleague.com/) and Facebook accounts are managed on a volunteer basis and are primarily intended to keep residents informed about programs and happenings in the immediate neighborhood.
This includes promotion of the following:
- Programs and classes at the community hall
- Events hosted by the Greenfield Community League
- Soccer, tennis and other neighborhood sport programs
- City of Edmonton events, camps and green shack programs
- Events or activities hosted by neighbouring communities that are of interest or would benefit Greenfield Community League members
- Public events such as open houses or other activities for community schools, churches, or other social organizations within Greenfield
- Non-partisan political announcements or updates from elected officials, such as public consultation, public policy changes that impact community residents, how to contact an elected representative, information about the election process, or any other information that would allow community league engagement without the perception of bias
Other advertising is accepted with the goal to connect and benefit members of the community, whether offering or searching for a product or service.
For businesses located within the boundaries of Greenfield that are owned by community league members, free 3-line advertising is available with proof of your community league membership. More details are outlined in the “Next Door Neighbour Ads” section below.
Additional paid advertising options are also available. More details are outlined in the “Local Business Ads” section below.
Both “Next Door Neighbour Ads” and “Local Business Ads” are published through the Greenfield Gazette, a newsletter that is delivered door-to-door on a bi-monthly basis, with an email newsletter sent to subscribers every month between printed newsletters. The printed newsletter includes approximately 1,500 printed issues per edition, and is posted to the Greenfield Community League website in PDF format, while the email Express newsletter reaches approximately 500 subscribers.
